Ladycat Soccer

By: Madelyn Renner

The girls’ soccer team, coached by Brooke Herr, Tara Herr, and David Hammons, has had a very successful season this year.  They ended their regular season with an overall record of 12-4 and ended with a record of 6-3 in the WBL.  Their last regular season game was on October eighth, where they competed against Shawnee for the league title.  Sadly, the ladycats lost to Shawnee 2-1.  While the team was obviously disappointed with this result, they made the best of the situation, and used it as a learning experience.  With such a young team, this experience helped them grow as they looked forward and began to prepare for the tournament.  The ladycats were granted a bye in the first round of the tournament, so they did not have to play a game.  In the time they had off, the team refocused and practiced hard.  They most recently defeated St Mary’s in their first tournament game, making them sectional champs! Make sure to congratulate the ladycats on a great season so far!
