Improving your grades

The beginning of the second quarter has already come around.  The first quarter went by extremely quickly, with some big tests and quizzes probably coming at the end.  It’s always hard to get back into the process at the beginning of the year, but now, it is time to get serious.  Grades are very important during high school and at the end of the year.  If you have a high GPA throughout high school, you can be rewarded.  During junior and senior year, you can be eligible for NHS, which is a huge goal for some students.  Some ways to improve your grades are to actually study.  There are many different ways to study and each person is different as well, and it may take a while to figure out which way works for you.  In certain classes, homework is due the next week, but before it’s due, other assignments are given as well.  Eventually, they build up and it gets overwhelming.  The best thing to do is to just finish it the night it was assigned so that it doesn’t add up and cause you to have no motivation.  It is not embarrassing to ask a teacher for help, so if you’re struggling, they are there to help your grade and for you to understand, not to make fun of you for needing guidance and it really helps.  There are many ways you can try to improve your grade besides studying and getting things done right away.  You have to be focused and if you don’t have the right mind set, it can be even more of a struggle. If you have to work with a friend on something or request some time off from work, then go ahead and do it.  Always remember to do your best with your grades.  Keep your grades up in the second quarter!
