This weekend, Lima Senior High School hosted their 2nd annual Rotary Four-Way Speech Contest for local students. This year, the participants included four students from Lima Senior and Bath High School. On Saturday, the students’ requirements were to give a five-seven minute speech in front of several judges. The requirements for the speech had to be on the Rotary Club’s Four-Way Test and how it is an important role in everyday relationships for the student’s lives. The objective for this contest was to give the students valuable experience in public speaking. The Superintendent of Lima City Schools Jill Ackerman said it is very important for people to have the ability to maintain eye contact and speak in public with confidence on the topic given. After all students were finished with their speeches, the judges came together and named Alexis Ball of our very own Bath High School the winner of the contest. Alexis will now move on to the District Competition taking place in Van Wert on April 14,2018.
