This past week, St. Rita’s Medical Center hosted a banquet at Veterans Memorial Civic Center to honor the Sister of Mercy and other employees as well. President and CEO of Mercy Health-Lima and Toledo says that he could not imagine how the Sisters felt while being under pressure and under resourced. The Sisters accepted the challenge that was brought to them and delivered their promise to help the community. Sister Rita Wasserman, is the last sister CEO of St. Rita’s, and has enjoyed welcoming everyone and helping them through ministry. Although Wasserman has passed down her leadership position to Mr. Weber who was the first lead administrator, she still sees herself there in spirit. During the banquet there was a video that honored Sister Rita Wasserman, Sister Noelle Fry, and Sister Rose Marie Golembiewski who told of the evolving of St. Rita’s over the years. The Sisters and everyone else involved are looking forward to more advancements in the future.
