After going to a Chinese prison, the three basketball players that were caught shoplifting have been suspended indefinitely from the UCLA basketball team. The three players will not be able to participate in any team activities. These activities include practicing, dressing games and traveling with the team. Getting kicked out of the locker room is also among the list. On Tuesday November 14th, the players returned to U.S. soil. President Donald Trump traveled to China and brought the three players back before they could be sentenced to ten years in their prison. They hit three different stores before they were arrested with a set bail of $2200. The Chinese government refunded the money after the players were released. President Trump tweeted afterwards saying, “To the three UCLA basketball players I say: You’re welcome, go out and give a big Thank You to President Xi Jinping of China who made your release possible and, HAVE A GREAT LIFE! Be careful, there are many pitfalls on the long and winding road of life!” The players are now under travel restrictions and had to turn in their passports.¬†Coach Steve Alford said that the boys will have to “earn their way back on the team.”
