This past week we had the Western Buckeye League boys soccer tournament play out with 4 different teams going at it.The Elida Bulldogs who are the number one seed and the conference champions took on the third seeded St. Marys Roughriders. St Marys took an early lead with a goal in the first 5 minutes of the game, but Elida eventually found their stride. The Bulldogs ended up blowing out St. Marys with a score of 7-2. The second seeded Kenton Wildcats and the fourth seeded Shawnee Indians was the other WBL matchup. It was a close affair in the first half, but the Indians managed to get a goal on Kenton. The second half was a different story however, with an early goal off of a penalty kick for Kenton, and then an own goal by Shawnee that put the Wildcats up 2-1, and eventually won them the game. The winners of these games, Kenton and Elida, will now face off.
