MLB Season Winds to a Close

As the 2017 baseball regular season draws to a close, there is much speculation as to who will be the top team when the final out is made. There are already teams who have run away with their divisions. The Cleveland Indians have clinched the AL Central after their AL record 23-game win streak which blew away all others who hoped to win that division. The Houston Astros and the Washington Nationals have clinched with huge leads over their division rivals with 15 and 20 game leads. The Los Angeles Dodgers may not have that huge of a lead, but their best record in the majors has been more then enough to help them in clinching their spot in the postseason. However there are still interesting division races taking place this season. There are three teams still in contention for the NL Central crown. The Chicago Cubs are in the lead right now but the Milwaukee Brewers and the St. Louis Cardinals are hot on their tail so who knows who will end up on top. The AL East division is still up for grabs, and the two teams going up for it are two very familiar rivals. The Boston Red Sox and the New York Yankees have been exchanging blows all year with every series they play. The Red Sox have remained on top of the division for most of the year. But the Yankees are still poised to make a run for the division title. Only time will tell how each of these intense races for the postseason develop. The drama is a great way to close out yet another great MLB season.
