Syracuse Upsets Duke

The Syracuse men’s basketball team upset the Duke Blue Devils on Wednesday night by a single three-point shot, scored by John Gillon. Gillon pushed the ball up the court and banked in a three-pointer over three Duke players to steal a win over number 10 ranked Duke. The Blue Devils were leading for a majority of the game, having a lead of eight points at halftime. However, Syracuse was able to make up the lead after some halftime adjustments, making it a tied game right before the final whistle. Gillon scored the final points needed for the win.┬áSyracuse was led by John Gillon, who had 26 points and 6 assists. Freshman Tyus Battle also stood out with 18 points and 4 rebounds. The Blue Devils were led by sophomore guard Luke Kennard, who had 23 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists. Duke freshman Jayson Tatum also scored 19 points, had 13 rebounds, and had 6 assists. Duke will now be looking for a win as they take on Miami this Saturday. Syracuse’s next game with be against Louisville.
