The 2017 NBA All Star Game was in New Orleans this year. Hometown favorite Anthony Davis took home the MVP, as he had 52 points and 10 rebounds on the night. The West Team took a 97-92 lead into halftime. As with most All Star Games, the players’ focus was mostly on offense and there were few defensive plays made. The second half was much like the 1st as viewers saw dunks, deep 3’s, and tough shots go in. The West defeated the East with a score of 192-182. The best part about the game was when former teammate Kevin Durant threw the ball to Russell Westbrook for a dunk. The Eastern Conference All Stars were led by 1st time All Star Giannis Antetokounmpo, who had 30 points and 6 rebounds. The East also got 23 points from Lebron James and 22 points and 14 assists from teammate Kyrie Irving. Although the West was led by Davis, they also got 41 points off the bench from Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant went for a triple double. Now that all the All Star events are over, the players will have a couple days of rest before returning to the regular season.
