The Cubs were down 3-1 in the series going into last night’s game. If the Cubs had not managed a win, the Indians would have won the series 4-1. Jon Lester started the game off pitching for the Cubs against the Indians’ Trevor Bauer, who is 0-2 in the postseason.  The Cubs’ manager Joe Maddon made the decision to put in star closer Aroldis Chapman to try to save the Cubs and force a game six at Cleveland.  The Cubs’ offense was started by Kris Bryant, who hit a home run to start off the 4th inning to tie the game at 1-1.  Later in the inning Ross hit a sacrifice fly to put the Cubs in the lead 1-3.  In the ninth inning Aroldis Chapman shut down the Indians to end the game.  Aroldis Chapman told reporters after the game ” I didn’t expect to come in so early.”  The Cubs’ manager was pleased of how well his team came together to get the victory to keep their hopes alive to become World Series Champions.
