A warplane has recently crashed into a residential area of Syria, killing at least 27 people. According to the Local Coordination Committees, a group of activist groups in Syria, the warplane crashed into a very busy market. Reportedly, the plane was conducting airstrikes for the Syria government under the direction of the Syria president, Bashar Assad, against rebel groups. The cause of the crash is currently unknown, but it is possible that the rebel groups were able to shoot down the plane. Rami Abdurrahman, leader of Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, stated that the plane crashed into the town center, destroying several homes and damaging other buildings. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights is reporting that 31 people were killed by the plane. An amateur video has surfaced that depicts the aftermath of the attack and the buildings that were damaged. The video appears authentic as it matches the reports made by the Associated Press.
