Comcast Buys DreamWorks

For reports about Comcast making a bid for Disney.

Comcast, the largest broadcasting and cable company in the world, has decided to buy the very popular film production company DreamWorks. DreamWorks is well known for its movies “Shrek”, “How to Train Your Dragon”, and ” Kung Fu Panda”. The news of the big deal  first started off as a rumor, but is now official. Comcast says that they will pay $41 in cash for each DreamWorks share. As DreamWorks is worth $4.1 billion dollars, this deal will be bigger than when Disney bought Marvel and Lucasfilms.  DreamWorks will help Comcast grow their film production, theme parks, and products for many years. Comcast is said to be able to buy DreamWorks very easily, as they had $5.6 billion dollars in cash at the end of March this year. Both companies are iconic businesses with great assets and a potential for future growth. The deal is expected to close by the end of the year.
