School Lunch Over The Years

Have you noticed how much school lunches have changed throughout the years? When we were in elementary we would get dirt pudding or Oreo pie with our meals. Our go-backs used to include many different types of sweets, like ice cream sandwiches and fudge bars. In middle school, the go-backs weren’t ice cream any more, but instead included carder bars and chips. Eventually,┬ávarious political reforms┬ámandated that all of our school lunches have to be healthier. Our options for extra foods then became severely limited. Our choices now include baked chips and fruit snacks. Now they gives us less and less food every year. In elementary school, we got six french toast sticks freshly sprinkled with sugar and now we get three or four small, dry pieces of glorified whole-grain bread to dip in syrup. We also used to get full chicken strips and now we have chicken rings, which are small nuggets with holes in the middle. What do you think about the school lunch now? Did you like the food better when you were in Elementary School?
